I’m always on the hunt for a good deal, especially when it comes to furnishing our house. So finding something to fill a large empty corner in the kitchen was no exception. When we toured our house the stagers had a chunky, square dark wood table there pushed up against the wall with 3 chairs surrounding it (check the photo below). It was a practical solution but we didn’t like crowded feel so we looked for something smaller, lighter, and modern.
After a little Pinterest searching, I was smitten. That was it. We needed a round, all-white pedestal table.
I of course loved the look of this Room & Board option but felt investing that much into a kitchen table we might not use all that often, wasn’t a smart financial decision. Next was this CB2 option which is equally as gorgeous for a fraction of the cost but still not in my “costs next to nothing” category. I found this IKEA Docksta option which would be right up my alley if the size was just a little too big for the space. The largest we wanted to go was 36” so that the table top would not interfere with the walkway through the kitchen.
That’s about when my Craigslist searching started. We previously lived In Chicago where you can find just about anything you can imagine on craigslist, but in Milwaukee, I’ve learned that’s not the case. The DIY round table was truly going to be a DIY project.
